Most would have seen the news on the 3rd NSF to die in camp this year. Read in the news that he was supposed to rest from Sept 28 to 29 for "sprains and strains of the knee and leg" and be on Attend B status (light duties for next 4 days, i.e Sept 30 to Oct 2). But he did not submit his MC to the Med Cntr. Subsequently, he passed away on Tuesday while doing chin-ups in Lim Chu Kang camp.
Next, the statement on all 3 NSF who died this year, are from polytechnics... sounds like a sweeping statement.
Well, I'm not an expert on health. Let's talk about his MC first. He's excused because of sprains and strains of the knee and leg. I don't recall in my study that sprains and strains of the lower limbs can cause sudden death. We guys have been there done that in pushing on, despite the sprains and strains, and given he's an atheletic young man, this is definitely not the reason for his sudden death.
Or is it because of the training? Too tough? Com'on, the past is worse off.
The reason I can hypothesize is that, the general health of our people nowadays are not as good as in the past, and most likely this is due to the diet we have.
That's why our govt trying so hard to promote healthy living.
Eat more veggies, push away the meat... that's supposed to help the environment as well (read Straits Times today)
Everyone, pls do take care of your health... and stay happy and do things you want to, cos you nvr know when this can happen
