Painted Skin

Movie of the day: Painted Skin
The movie is based on 1 of the various stories in the chinese classic tales Liao Zhai Zhi Shi 聊斋志异.
I like how the story revolves around the relationships and development of the characters.
How did Wang Sheng managed to curb his love for Xiaowei, all because he already has Peirong.
How the demon-buster finally realised, it's not with hatred that she has to pursue her career in demon-busting.
The cast did a good job overall, Donnie Yen with his laughter-filled character (he mentioned in interview that in real life, he's indeed one with smiles often; unlike the one we know);
Zhou Xun is beautiful as the vixen; Zhao Wei as the tender-loving housewife, who sacrifices herself (a bit dumb i think); Chen Kun as the faithful husband, other than his (wet) dreams; and our made-in-Singapore Qi Yu Wu aka Ah Wu as the Chameleon.

Most of the Liao Zhai tales are actually on the fragile relationships issues...
Today, I learnt of another friend who just broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years.
Sigh...
